Why We Are
The birth of AmBaisi (Am Bai See) Creations fashion brand was inspired by a young Fashion Designer and seamstress Gloria’s lifelong fascination with fashion and its ability to express unique styles and personalities. Growing up, I was captivated by my mother, who worked as a designer and seamstress, creating clothes for her customers without using patterns. I was always curious about my mother’s process and would eagerly gather fabrics scraps, grab a pair of scissors, and ask my mother to teach me how to cut the same style for my doll. Despite my mother’s initial reluctance, she eventually took the time to show me how to create a miniature dress. As I grew older, I started experimenting with sewing using my mother’s manual sewing machine whenever she was away. My siblings would alert me when Mother was returning, and I would quickly put the machine back in its place. Over time, I honed my skills and learned to sew by hand with a needle and thread, creating garments for myself and schoolmates in high school. I even handcrafted my graduation dress. In college, I continued sewing for family, friends and others, driven by the values of my patient and talented mother. My mother taught me to always strive for excellence and to rectify any mistakes by stopping, correcting, and redoing my work. This mindset became my motto---whatever I do; I aim to do it to the best of my ability. Even when working for my customers, I feel my mother’s presence and hear her guiding voice. As I pursued further education and traveled, my mother sadly passed away. However, I persevered and earned a degree In Fashion Design, carrying my father’s advice to constantly learn and store knowledge for future benefit. After my father’s passing, I welcomed a beautiful baby girl into the world, but tragically, the child passed away on her first birthday. In honor of my late parents and my daughter, who had made a significant impact during her short life, I named my fashion brand after my deceased daughter AmBaisi (Am Bai See) Creations. The name symbolizes gracefulness. The brand’s mission is to honor my family’s legacy while dedicating themselves to innovative, sustainable, ethical, timeless, and high-end fashion, constantly pushing the boundaries of creativity.
